Engineer Kabir Hakim is an engineer by training and has decades of experience in the development and NGO sector in Afghanistan as the founder and director of Partners and Revitalization and Building (PRB), one of the most active, oldest, and trusted NGOs in the country. He holds a B-Text degree from India and a master’s in Project Management from Jones International University in Colorado, United States. Kabir Hakim’s work for PRB throughout the decades has been supported by numerous international organizations including UN System (UNDP, FAO, UNODC, WFP, UNOPS, UNOCHA), Canada Fund, IRC, Embassy of Japan, USAID, EU, Oxfam, WHH, and dozens more engaged in development and alleviating poverty.
In addition to his development work, Engineer Kabir was one of the most politically active Afghans in India during the Soviet-Afghan war in the 80s and was the editor and chief of several newspapers and periodicals on Afghanistan, including Tolo, Mirror of Afghanistan, and Fateh published in multiple languages. He is a native speaker of Persian and Pashto with professional proficiency in English and Urdu.
